Crafty Wonderland is Portland's premier biannual craft and artisan fair. For newer artists applying for this show, let it be known that this is a jurried show. Hundreds of artists apply every year and they choose the best in the city while trying to maintain a balance of variety. Unfortunately for those who don't get in, the fee for application ($10) every time you try is non-refundable. That doesn't mean that you shouldn't try, and try, and try again. It took me applying for every show for 3 years before I got into just the spring show! I can't wait until I get the chance to try the winter show. As my tiny operation grows, I hope to eventually be able to donate some items for their grab bags for the first couple hundred attendees at the door. Great idea to promote your art! This show also hosts meet and greet parties for the audience and artists to get together and chat before the show which is really neat. The show I did last spring was okay, financially. I didn't make that much, but it wasn't bad for a one day show! In fact, I got in again this year and have some new stuff so we'll see how it goes. It's practically in my back yard and super neighborhood conscious. Fun craft fair. I feel that you better your chances of getting into this show if you have something that is both well made and unique! Your best bet is to attend a show or two first to get an idea of what this particular show is looking for. Good luck!
