It's ok
Like the other reviewer said, it's well run, but the attendance isn't very high for the amount of space and number of vendors vs. things for attendees to do (panels, workshops, performances, etc). Table fee was acceptable. Not much in the way of food options (typical concession stand fare), so plan accordingly especially if you have dietary restrictions.

I did notice a lot of young families who were there as Lookie-Lous and also one or two vendors who packed up early for the 2016 show. 2015 felt like there was a similar attendance. Lots of first-time con goers who weren't really prepared for shopping or plainly didn't have money, which makes it a little difficult when a good chunk of the con is AA and Vendor Hall.

Probably going to give it a break for a while a let the con grow a little more before trying again. I haven't lost money on the show, but I'm aware that many only ever just break even.

Well-run, but poor sales
JCCS is a well-organised con with excellent staff. Unfortunately, sales have always been poor for me there. Their venue in Tacoma is nice and spacious, but there really isn't much event-wise to hold people's interest. Though this is now changing, the primary draw for the years I attended was the vendors, but there were so many vendors, it was overwhelming to the crowd that JCCS attracted -- casual fans, many of which are first-time con-goers. Many made one circuit of the room, then checked out for the day. The Tacoma Convention Center is also lacking for food options, so when attendees leave for a meal, it's a pain to come back. Its relative seclusion from the rest of the city also means there's little to no chance or random passersby coming in. It's really a shame.

Again, I want to emphasise that the con is very well run. It's decently attended, but there isn't a lot of spending happening. Lots of families with kids.

I have detailed reports of JCCS in 2012, 2013, and 2014. I didn't attend in 2015 and don't plan return in the near future.
