Keystone Comic Con

Everything was a nightmare from setup to tear down. Attendance was abysmal at best, and most weren’t interested in purchases. Someone on staff who was shopping around even had the audacity to call my fancy holographic keychains “overpriced, cheaply made trinkets” to their friend who was very excited about them. They left without buying it because of that comment. Lots of rude parents with pre-teens asking me what my day job was. Infuriating! Food outside the venue was pretty cheap. Food carts are all over, there’s also Dunkin’ Donuts and Panera by the market and train station which made getting coffee a breeze.

Not bad for a first year con, but I was hoping for a little more from Reedpop. Attendance was surprisingly low, and my total for the whole show was about what I'd expect from a strong Saturday at any other large con. I imagine this was due in large part to the convention being so close (geographically and temporally) to both Baltimore and NYCC. Even so, Reedpop could have been a little more aggressive with their advertising.

On the plus side, attendees seemed like they were having a good time, and I appreciated the creator lounge provided by Webtoon (hooray for free food, drinks, and swag!). If Reedpop just makes a few tweaks, I think this has the potential to be a great show!
